AIA Hong Kong grants free COVID-19 coverage through mobile app

Payments for diagnosis and death will be guaranteed.

Individual and group clients of AIA Hong Kong can now receive free COVID-19 cover upon downloading the insurer’s AIA Connect mobile app, according to a news release.

A payment of $1,934 (HK$15,000) will be provided as a diagnosis benefit if one is diagnosed with the virus, with a further “compassionate benefit” payment of $19,346 (HK$150,000) in case of death.

AIA Hong Kong clients and their insured children under 18 years old are automatically entitled to this free cover if they have already registered for the app, and can additionally register two non-insured children under 18 years old for the free cover upon completing an online enrolment form.

In addition, Hong Kong citizens who are non-AIA insurance customers, including their two children under 18 years old, can receive this free cover by downloading the app, registering as new users and completing an online form.
