Etiqa Insurance offers home-based medical exam for foreign domestic workers

The insurer has tied up with healthtech company Doctor Anywhere.

Etiqa Insurance has forged a partnership with Singapore-based telehealth startup Doctor Anywhere to extend complimentary home-based six-monthly medical examination (6ME) service for foreign domestic workers (FDW) under their maid insurance plans, according to a media statement.

Available for purchase on TIQ, the insurer’s digital channel, ePROTECT maid will come with free medical check-up worth up to $80.

Medical examination screens for pregnancy and infectious diseases under the plan will be conducted in the comfort of the home so that employers rest easy as they remain in compliance with regulation from the Ministry of Manpower prescribing all employers to send their FDWs for medical screening every six months.

"We are excited to collaborate with Doctor Anywhere, as we believe that this benefit provides greater convenience to the household, while helping employers to save time and money", said Sue Chi Kong, CEO at Etiqa Insurance Pte. Ltd said in a statement. "Strategic partnerships with like-minded organisations promise exciting opportunities and value, which we can extend to our customers."

Doctor Anywhere is a healthtech startup that provides video consultations with GPs and mobile nurse visits for screenings and vaccinations.
