Ping An's CT imaging vehicle at Wuhan to help treat pneumonia related to 2019 nCov

Medical staff can perform lung CT scans faster for patients in quarantine.

Ping An has deployed its mobile computerised tomographic (CT) imaging vehicle to Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University to help with the diagnosis and treatment of pneumonia associated with the 2019 novel coronavirus (nCov), according to a press release. .

The vehicle provides a 64-slice CT imaging scan, which is said to be the primary method to screen and diagnose nCov-related pneumonia. The mobile CT imaging vehicle uses smart tubes with quadruple acquisition technology, which can increase the amount of data fourfold even when the radiation exposure remains unchanged, and thus increase the application efficiency of X-ray.

Frontline medical staff will be able to perform lung CT scans speedily for patients in quarantine, the announcement said.
