BMS Group names Tim Hewitt as Head of Japan

Hewitt will oversee inbound-outbound M&A activities in Japan.

BMS Group, an independent insurance and reinsurance broker, has appointed Tim Hewitt as Head of BMS in Japan.

Hewitt, a long-time Japan resident fluent in Japanese and English, will initially focus on brokering insurance solutions for inbound-outbound mergers and acquisition (M&A) activities in the rapidly growing Japanese M&A market.

With over two decades of legal industry experience, including roles in a global private equity firm's legal leadership and specialisation in M&A transactions at top law firms in Tokyo and Sydney, Hewitt brings expertise to his role at BMS.

BMS has offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, and Tokyo. Leveraging its global networks and proficiency, BMS said it intends to broaden its specialty insurance services from Private Equity, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Tax (PEMAT) advisory to other sectors in Japan over time.
