Cathay Life Insurance commits $146m in private equity funds

The Taiwanese insurer has funded two PE funds.

Cathay Life, the insurance arm of Taiwanese conglomerate Cathay Financial Holdings, announced in a filing that it plans to commit about $146m in private equity funds.

The insurer will invest $60 million in KPS Special Situations Fund VI A and an additional $86 million in CVC Capital Partners IX.

The recent private equity investments of the Taiwanese insurer have targeted buyout, secondaries, and venture capital strategies across North America, Europe, and Asia.
