FWD Hong Kong floats new flexi-plan product

It has a "pre disability per policy year" claims mechanism.

FWD Hong Kong has launched its sixth Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme (VHIS) product certified by the city’s Food and Health Bureau, according to an announcement.

vCANsurance Medical Plan is a flexi-plan product which grants a “per disability per policy year” claims mechanism for each benefit. The aggregate limit for hospitalisation per disability per policy year, which amounts to $84,000 (HK$650,000) for a semi-private room and $65,000 (HK$500,000) for a ward room, will be counted afresh for each disability during each policy year, allowing the coverage and benefit limits to be reset per disability and per policy year.

It also has additional benefits for prescribed non-surgical cancer treatments and kidney dialysis, which amount to $65,000 (HK$500,000) per disability per policy year for a superior plan, and $45,000 (HK$350,000) per disability per policy year for a standard plan.

Moreover, vCANsurance has no itemised sub-limits on medical expenses incurred for hospitalisation and surgery.

Until 30 November 2020, new vCANsurance policyholders can enjoy up to six months of first year premium discount. These policies must be issued by 31 December 2020.
