FWD reports $200m before tax operating profit in H1

Its value of new business increased by 25% for the first half of 2022.

Pan-Asian life insurer FWD Group has reported a $200m segmental adjusted before tax operating profit in the first half of 2022, more than double last year.

The group also reported strong organic growth in H1 2022, with the group’s value of new business reaching $405m.

"We continued our strong track record of consistently delivering organic growth, demonstrating that our strategy is working. In nine years, FWD Group reached a critical scale and hit an inflexion point. Our performance is even more impressive considering the headwinds that the industry and communities in Asia continue to face in navigating the COVID-19 pandemic this year,” Huynh Thanh Phong, Group CEO and Executive Director of FWD Group said.

In a recent report, FWD Group is said to be eying an initial public offering on the Hong Kong exchange.
