Hong Kong IA warns against illegal use of insurers’ logos

A Youtube channel was found illegally using logos of known insurance firms.

The Insurance Authority (IA) of Hong Kong is warning the public against the unauthorised use of insurers’ logos after a Youtube channel called BITCentre or BITC, was found using the logos of Prudential Hong Kong Limited and Prudential General Insurance Hong Kong Limited in its video without the insurers’ authorisation.

Both companies have confirmed that they have no connection with the Youtube channel.

The case has been reported to the Hong Kong Police Force for investigation.

“Anyone who has provided personal information to the Youtube account concerned or has conducted any insurance transactions through the account should contact the Prudential Customer Services Hotline at 2281-1333 (Life Insurance) or 3656-8362 (General Insurance and Employee Benefits), and report the case to the Hong Kong Police Force,” the IA said.
