Korean Re Switzerland elevates CUO to CEO

Michael Hinz will begin his role on 1 July, whilst current CEO Markus Eugster will step down at his request.

Korean Reinsurance Switzerland AG, a subsidiary of Korean Reinsurance Company, has announced the appointment of Michael Hinz as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective from 1 July. 

Hinz, currently serving as Chief Underwriting Officer since 2021, will succeed Markus Eugster in this role. The transition has received approval from regulatory authorities.

Hinz brings extensive experience in the reinsurance industry, with a career spanning back to 1993.

His leadership has been pivotal in shaping Korean Re Switzerland's underwriting function and strategy since its inception. 

Markus Eugster, the current CEO who has led Korean Re Switzerland since 2018, will step down at his request. 

However, he will continue to support Korean Re in a strategic advisory capacity, contributing to the group's international development.
