Manulife boosts Asia team with two senior appointments
Both their roles will be effective on 19 August.
Manulife announced two senior leadership appointments to its Asia Distribution Team: Bonnie Qiu will join Manulife as Chief Distribution Officer whilst Rishi Srivastava will join Manulife as Chief Agency Officer.
Qiu’s role will be effective on 19 August. Reporting to Phil Witherington, president & CEOof Manulife Asia, Qiu will oversee the development and growth of Manulife’s multi-channel distribution platform in its 12 insurance markets in Asia, focusing on improving agency performance, enhancing service quality, deepening bancassurance partnerships, and maximising digital transformation.
Qiu also brings extensive experience from her role at HSBC as managing director of Business Development Asia Pacific.
Over her two-decade career at HSBC, she held various leadership roles in Wealth and Personal Banking, including CEO of HSBC Bank Mauritius and group head of Premier and Jade, contributing to customer experience and revenue growth.
She has also served in leadership roles in mainland China and Taiwan and has board experience across banking and insurance entities.
Srivastava’s role will also be effective 19 August. Reporting directly to Qiu, he will focus on driving sustainable growth of Manulife’s agency channels using digital tools and differentiated propositions.
Srivastava previously served as chief executive officer of Group Agency Distribution at AIA, overseeing its agency business and digital transformation. His prior roles include managing director & CEO of Tata AIA Life Insurance and director at AXA Financial Indonesia.
