MS Amlin rebounds in 2023

The (re)insurer registered a net loss of $60m in 2022.

MS Amlin registered an operating profit of $328.5 (£256.8m) in 2023, a notable improvement from the previous year's loss of $59.7m (£46.7m), which was attributed to a focus on enhanced risk selection and actions to refine the core underwriting portfolio.

The company achieved an adjusted combined ratio of 86.6%, the lowest in a decade.

MS Amlin also benefited from a relatively benign natural catastrophe year and an attractive rate environment, it said in a press announcement.
