Myanmar embraces ASEAN integration with cross-border auto insurance launch: Report

Myanma Insurance will provide coverage in Myanmar.

Myanmar has launched cross-border motor vehicle insurance for vehicles across ASEAN countries, as reported by Xinhua news agency referencing channel MRTV. 

The ASEAN Compulsory Motor Insurance System (ACMI) allows online premium payments for vehicles entering Myanmar. Myanma Insurance, with branches at border gates, will provide coverage in Myanmar.

Premiums for Myanmar vehicles will be paid at the respective countries' border gates. The initiative aligns with the ASEAN Framework Agreement on the Facilitation of Goods in Transit, mandating compulsory motor insurance for vehicles transiting member countries. 

The digital platform streamlines insurance acceptance for ASEAN transport vehicles entering Myanmar.
