QBE Asia announces new chief underwriting officer

He joined QBE Asia back in 2016.

QBE Asia has appointed Jeremy Lau as its new chief underwriting officer. Based in Hong Kong, Lau will begin his role on 1 August.

Lau will also work closely with Chief Executive Officer of QBE Asia, Rob Kosova, and the Chief Underwriting Officer for QBE International, Nick Hankin.

With over 25 years of experience in actuarial, underwriting, and distribution, Jeremy has a proven record in developing business strategies and delivering sustainable growth.

Lau , who joined QBE Asia in 2016 as Chief Actuary, succeeds Andy White, now Group Head of Underwriting Strategy and Performance. 

In his new role, he will oversee the firm’s underwriting strategy, governance, and performance.
