Singaporean woman faces jail time for fake travel insurance claims

Her fraudulent insurance claims amounted to more than $10k.

A woman faces jail time after she embarked on a series of fraudulent insurance claims that totalled over $10k in Singapore, a report by Channel News Asia said.

The report said a certain Siti Saliha Muhammad Hussain, age 30, doctored photos of damaged goods, receipts, boarding passes, and police reports she found online with Paint and Microsoft Word applications to help support her more than 20 fraudulent claims between March 2016 to September 2019. 17 of these claims resulted in payouts

The insurance companies that Hussain made claims to were AXA Insurance, AIG Asia Pacific Insurance, NTUC Income Insurance Co-operative, Aviva and FWD Singapore. She was sentenced to five months in jail after pleading guilty to six charges of cheating, with 14 more charges taken into consideration.
