Sompo Int’l assigns new lead for crisis management, commercial P&C insurance

Chiew is based in Singapore and joins from AXA, where she was a senior underwriter.

Sompo International has named Pei Ru Chiew as lead for its Crisis Management team, Commercial P&C Insurance in Asia Pacific (APAC).

Chiew will be based in Singapore and reports to Paul O’Neill, President of Commercial Lines, Insurance, APAC.

Prior to joining Sompo International, Chiew was on AXA XL’s Singapore team as a senior underwriter of War, Terrorism and Political Violence.

Before that, Chiew had also served as JLT Specialty as a Credit, Political and Security Risk broker and manager, and Marsh Asia as a Terrorism and Political Violence broker.

We are seeing growing demand for political violence and terrorism insurance cover in this region. Pei Ru’s extensive experience in this sector well-positions her to work closely with our clients and broker partners delivering the solutions that meet their evolving needs,” O’Neill said.
