Sun Life debuts peso tech funds

The funds come in two variants.

Sun Life of Canada (Philippines) launched the Sun Life Peso Global Tech Funds, allowing clients to invest in the technology sector.

The funds are available as an option in any peso-denominated investment-linked insurance plans.

The funds come in two variants: the Sun Life Peso Global Tech Growth Fund, which aims for long-term capital appreciation, and the Sun Life Peso Global Tech Payout Fund, designed to generate quarterly income.

Both funds operate as feeder funds and are initially invested in the Invesco Nasdaq-100 Exchange-Traded Fund, which tracks the NASDAQ-100 Index. This index has outperformed the Philippine Stock Exchange Index over the past decade.

According to Carla Gonzalez-Chong, Sun Life’s chief client experience & marketing officer, the funds provide an opportunity to maximise peso assets by tapping into global tech market opportunities over a long-term investment horizon.

Additionally, these funds offer an alternative for building wealth whilst maintaining insurance protection.
