Swiss Re appoints new Group CFO

This succession comes after the retirement of John Dacey.

Swiss Re has appointed Anders Malmström as Group Chief Financial Officer effective 1 April 2025. Malmström succeeds John Dacey.

Malmström, currently Group CFO at Athora Holdings, will join Swiss Re in early 2025. 

He has also held senior financial roles at Equitable Holdings, AXA US, AXA Winterthur, and Swiss Life Group. 

Malmström holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Aachen and a Master's degree in Mathematics, Physics, and Astronomy from the University of Basel, and completed the Stanford Executive Program.

Whilst Dacey will retire from his executive role on 31 March 2025, he will remain involved with Swiss Re as a non-executive director on the boards of FWD and CPIC.
