Taiwan life insurers' foreign sales rise 6% in March

Investment-linked insurance products generated NT$9.3b during the month.

Life insurers in Taiwan saw their sales of foreign-currency denominated products improve in March, with premium revenues climbing 6% on a year-on-year (YoY) basis. When translated, this equates to NT$74.1b ($2.29b), data from the Insurance Bureau showed.

Investment-linked insurance products generated NT$9.3b ($0.29b), about 13% of the total, reflecting a 38% decrease from NT$15.1b ($0.47b) the previous year. 

Traditional insurance products accounted for NT$64.7b ($2.00b), about 87% of the total, marking a 19% rise from NT$54.6b ($1.69b) year-on-year.
