Thai online insurance provider acquires FWD General Thailand

FWD General was previously acquired by Singapore-based bolttech.

Roojai, an online insurance provider in Thailand, acquired FWD General Insurance from Singaporean insurtech bolttech.

The Thai insurer said the combined portfolio of both companies will exceed $50m in annual premiums.

This deal enables Roojai to transform into a fully digital insurance company, making it authorised to underwrite general insurance products.

With the acquisition, FWD will be rebranded and renamed under Roojai standards. This is subject to regulatory approval, according to Roojai.

Existing policies, claims processes, and customer services will remain unaffected by the acquisition.
