Thailand to offer health insurance for non-locals: Report

It aims to expand healthcare for stateless and non-Thai individuals.

Thailand's Ministry of Public Health is set to launch the Health Insurance for Non-Thai People (Hint) system on 1 January, reported Vietnam Plus. 

This initiative aims to provide healthcare coverage for stateless and non-Thai individuals, enhancing access to healthcare in border areas.

The Hint system offers swift registration, reducing processing time to five minutes compared to the previous system which would last two weeks. 

It facilitates registration for non-Thai individuals without identification documents.

The system is integrated with the ministry's financial data hub, enabling hospitals to reimburse medical fees for non-Thais within 24 hours and ensuring transfers in 15 days.
