Zurich Australia becomes preferred insurer of Tesla

The CEO said there has been an uptick in EV demand.

Electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, Tesla, has partnered with Zurich Australia (Zurich) to provide EV insurance to its customers.

Through this new partnership, existing and new Tesla owners can access the 'InsureMyTesla' EV insurance offering, provided exclusively by Zurich using its 'Edge' technology, directly through the Tesla app.

“EV uptake in Australia is rapidly growing as consumers continue to recognise the importance of lowering their environmental impact. Ensuring these customers receive quality insurance protection is critical for supporting the national transition journey,” Justin Delaney, chief executive officer, Zurich Australia & New Zealand said in a press release.

The plan covers all vehicle repairs, including glass, charging equipment, and batteries, using Tesla's accredited repair network. The product is available to all Tesla Model 3 and Model Y customers through the Tesla app.
