YAS MicroInsurance opens new office in Malaysia

The insurtech firm said it plans to ‘shake-up’ the market.

Hong Kong-based insurtech firm YAS MicroInsurance has opened a new flagship office in Malaysia to be the company’s second arm in Asia.

The YAS Digital Malaysia Sdn Bhd will be led by country head Zaryl Tan.

According to YAS, they plan to ‘shake-up’ Malaysia’s on-demand and usage-based insurance. Malaysia has one of the most developed insurance markets in the Asia Pacific with a 3.5% penetration rate.

“The launch of our APAC hub in Malaysia is a testament to the success of our Asia-focused microinsurance platform, which seeks to address the evolving insurance needs and breathe new life into Malaysia's on-demand and usage-based insurance,” YAS MicroInsurance Co-founder & CEO, Andy Ann said.
